GLOCK Gen6 Pistols To Launch?
We announced the launch of GLOCK V Series pistols last week and have since learned the new V Series pistols will be in stores in December. The announcement made by GLOCK stated the new V Series will not include MOS optics-ready versions. That is a clue. Why isn't GLOCK offering MOS versions of the V Series pistols? All G17 and G19 and all the other MOS pistols will be discontinued, except for the single stack models. It makes one wonder if GLOCK has other plans for double-stack MOS models. Add ing an optic to a handgun is something that GLOCK helped cultivate. Most shooters expect pistols to by optics compatible. Could it be that the next MOS pistols are Gen6 pistols? Possibly an optics mounting system that is universal and does require a handful of optic plates depending on the optic brand? Maybe they will include a plate for closed emitter red dots, which seem to be gaining more traction with law enforcement and civilians. The GLOCK/Aimpoint collaboration seems to have been a success. GLOCK COA pistols are demanding high prices even on the used market.

If you read between the lines of GLOCK's statement “to align with upcoming changes,” we think means that Gen6 pistols that will be introduced soon. SHOT Show is always the time to announce new product launches and this January at SHOT Show might mean GLOCK will unveil its latest pistol.
Discontinuing the entire double-stack magazine pistol models and launching the V Series is not the real story. We need to remember that GLOCK has built its brand and reputation around reliability and simplicity--and perfection. You just don't scrap 40 years of excellent pistol design. This is a transition in my opinion. I think GLOCK is moving on with an evolutionary change.
Perhaps GLOCK is looking at introducing a new pistol design with a removable fire control unit, basically a trigger assemble that is compatible with subcompact, compact and stand size pistol frames. The US military likes the idea of trigger assembly that's why they bought the SIG P320 system and renamed them the M17 and M18. Maybe because SIG's reputation is hemorrhaging with accusations the P320 fires without pressing the trigger makes the time right for a new pistol. If that claim is true or unfound there is still doubt in our collective minds that is there something wrong with the SIG?
There is also a slew of GLOCK clones from the likes Lone Wolf, PSA, ZEV, Shadow Systems, ZRO Delta, Ruger, Legacy Sports, and more. Maybe GLOCK is thinking to leave them in the 20th century while they pursue a new design in the 21st century.
I'm sure old man Glock is smiling knowing that his company has wronged out as much business as possible on the old GLOCK pistol designs, but future is now. Stay tuned.
Hello Robert. Yes for older growing eyes optics can be helpful. And COA is a good idea.
Here in Germany company goes a different way. The offer a replacement for the rear sight by a super strong magnet. While the foot of the magnet will fit into the dovetail, the body has several holes to align the optics. the company offers different models for GLOCKs and others and there is no need to cut some holes into the slides. Magnets are so strong, they hold several magazines of full power 10 mm ammo without loosing zero.
About the “fire control units:” maybe helpful, but it is only new for GLOCKs. I remember a Shot Show 2025 TFBTV report about a company offering a complete trigger (etc.) unit for those with 3-D printed GLOCK-Frames. This unit hold not only the trigger, but also the slide rails and all other parts in one unit to make GLOCK or Clone run. So I guess such an unit, which is said to fit in all double stack frames, will boost the market for home made guns. I remember there are a lot of interesting designs for “GLOCK-Frames” like those from Jeremy Booligan or Saint Cross Tactical.
I guess GLOCK should offer the FCU with Gen. 3; 4 and 5 frames, so the customer has more options for his personal GLOCK-Pistol.
