Rumors Of GLOCK Introducing Gen5 Pistols In .40 AUTO

I hear rumors of GLOCK introducing Gen5 pistols in .40 AUTO. That is surprising since 9mm guns are the new sweet spot for many LE agencies. Commercial interest in the .40 AUTO is low. But our sources say it is true. The Gen5 family is extending to the .40 caliber models and although GLOCK's primary focus is on LE, the guns will be offered on the commercial market, too. We will have full specs and images of the .40s  closer to fall.

GLOCK currently produces 10 pistols chambered in .40 AUTO. The 40 caliber GLOCKs are Gen 3 and Gen 4 models.

I'm an on-again, off-again fan of the .40 AUTO. It sure is a snappy round and I do like in my G35 Gen 3.

What do you think about the .40 AUTO?

  • Looking forward to a G35 Gen5 for USPSA!

  • My guess is the new Gen5 grip will help shooting the snappy 40 AUTO.

  • The shorty forty is a good round. There are hundreds of thousands of guns chambered in .40 S&W. Like anything else in shooting, interest in different calibers waxes and wanes over the years. It will be popular again when younger shooters get proficient with handloading.
