GLOCK Releases Five Gen5 .40 Caliber Pistols
GLOCK hasn't issued a press release, but go to the GLOCK US website and you will see five new GLOCK Gen 5 40 caliber pistols. The new Gen5 40 caliber pistols include the G22 Gen5, G22 Gen5 MOS, G23 Gen5, G23 Gen5 MOS, and G27 Gen5. The G22 and G23 models are now available with Gen5 technologies including the nDLC finish, a flared mag-well, the enhanced GLOCK Marksman barrel (GMB) for increased accuracy, and an ambidextrous slide stop lever.
The GLOCK 27 Gen5 in 40 S&W means the Gen5 line up gets a new model. The Gen5 design changes are incorporated into this small, light, accurate and powerful pistol. Many U.S. law enforcement agencies have chosen the G27 as their official backup weapon.
The GLOCK 27 with Gen5 technology means this model comes with nDLC finish, a flared mag-well, the proven GLOCK Marksman barrel (GMB) and an ambidextrous slide stop lever.
With an adjustable grip like the Gen4 model, the subcompact frame of the G27 Gen5 features the modular backstrap and beavertail system (MBS) and comes with a reversible magazine catch to accommodate left and right-handed operators.
The difference between the G27 Gen4 vs G27 Gen5 other than the GLOCK Fifth Generation features is the slide width. The slide width of the of the 40 S&W Gen5 models is slightly bigger compared to the previous generation. Your current G27 holster will not fir the new G27 Gen5 gun.
The 40 S&W caliber closes the gap between the .45 Auto calibers and the 9x19 service calibers. For more information go the GLOCK USA website.
