"I am amazed that some in the gun community are still surprised at the value of GLOCK pistols, but we in The Hobby know different. GLOCKs may not have the tradition of old Colt and Smith & Wesson revolvers, but those manufacturers have been around for centuries. GLOCK rose to their level in a matter of decades, and unlike Colt and Smith & Wesson, GLOCK has remained on top. It is only natural that GLOCK pistols become collectible with five generations of guns. Gunbroker.com contacted the GCA in early April about a GLOCK Gen1 G17 that went for over $5000 on Gunbroker.com. They wanted to talk to us about collectible GLOCKs. The GLOCK that sold was a G17 Gen1 with an AF letter prefix. That letter prefix was not one of the first G17s shipped to the US, but it is one of the earlier shipments. This AF is highlighted in our first article. Final bid was $5,502.00. Starting bid was $499.99. Robert Sadowski (GCA Treasurer/Secretary Member #562) spoke with Gunbroker.com about the pistol and GLOCK collectability in general. You can read the interview if you go to Gunbroker.com and click the Articles tab at the top of the page, then scroll down."
Just finished reading the 2024 journal. That is some crazy prices being paid for old Glocks.
