GLOCK 43X and GLOCK 48 MOS Models Introduced

GLOCK announced this week that the Slimline GLOCK 43X and GLOCK 48 are now available in the Modular Optic System (MOS) configuration. The G43X and G48 were introduced in July 2019 and feature a compact, Slimline frame with a 10-round magazine capacity. The optic-ready Slimline models are now available with an MOS cutout in the slide and slim GLOCK mounting rail system. With a non-standard MOS footprint, the Slimline MOS models require specific mico-reflex optics such as the Shield RMSc.

What type of sights works on GLOCK 43x and 48?

Since the Slimline MOS models require a specific mico-reflex optic. The small Shield RMSc is recommended. The RMSc was designed for single stack pistols. This optic allows the user to shoot with both eyes open and hit the target while providing peripheral vision. It features either a 4 MOA dot or an 8 MOA dot. The red dot is powered by one CR2032 battery and has a battery life of 2 to 3 years with average use; over 4 years in storage.

What is Glock MOS?

Reflex optics (MOS) allow the user to look through the reticle and focus on the target and alignment of the dot. The slim design allows the optical sight to be closer to the shooter’s line of sight and eliminates the need for high, back-up sights by allowing visibility of the standard GLOCK sights through the lens of the compact optic. With improved accuracy, quicker target acquisition and versatility, MOS pistols have become increasingly more popular for home and self-defense and are an ideal option for confined space operations.

According to Shelby Lasater, GLOCK, Inc. Director of Marketing, “The two new models are the first Slimline pistols to offer an MOS option and are ideal for shooters everywhere. The versatility of the Slimline MOS models give them the adaptability and ease of use for concealed carry, target shooting, law enforcement, and competition which make them a new favorite.”

I have used many different red dots on my pistols. In fact, I just did a Roland Special build with a Trijicon RMR (love this sight), but I have mainly used red dots on full size and compacts. Do any of you have a subcompact with a red dot? Let us know.

  • this is all well and good, but if you can’t find them in the store cases. all of this does no good. I have been trying to find a 43x for over 3 weeks, all of this news is for nought.
